a little bit of this.

{ dressing warm for a girli date night with the best }
{ my new Spike The Punch necklace in neon }
{ a fabulous teepee @ Wild Cayote Winery & Bed & Breakfast }
{ a hunky Daddy & Sterling }
{ Baby bubbles }
{ Gobble Gobble Gobble from this tired turkey }
{ Did NOT want to get out of the shower...but was a little un sure about the whole experience all together }

Just a little bit from me. Things are getting better (& by better, I mean I feel like I know what I'm doing about 50% of the time), and I'll take that...it's better than nothing. This kid is pretty dang cute & simultaneously the best/hardest thing I've ever taken on (being Mommy that is).
Happy holidays everyone. We'll be getting a tree soon, I'm sure Sterling will be loving the lights!!!

more more more

{ my little cross eyed cutie pie }
{ wore my hot pink J Crew cords & Mona pumps to date night Sat }
{ loving my new red hair...maybe too much? }

{ baby b day outfit }

Maybe some day my posts will make sense again. Until then, here is a hap hazard look into my life. All about my little babes, too much on line shopping (sorry but I'm not sorry hubs) & not enough time with my fabulous husband. Oh but our little man is the cutest babes in the world, it's pretty exciting watching him grow (13 lbs now)!!!
Planning a vaca to the snow in a month (anyone with 4 month olds have wisdom or encouragement for me!?) Never traveled far with him & it will be about a 3 hr drive....hoping all goes well considering he hates the car....oh man.
More soon I promise!!!!!

I really need to keep up on these!!

{ first time in his BebePod }....how cute are those socks?
{ baby bath time! }
{ mommy daddy date night }
{ sparkly Sam Edelman's }

{ an attempt at lunch with a friend }...let's see if she still has baby fever ;-/
{ daily walks through the woods in the moby wrap }

So there you have it folks...
Life of a stay at home mom includes breast feeding (a LOT), not sleeping that often, play time on the bed, boppy and my arms, walks while baby wearing & the realization that this shiz is hard. I mean....emotionally draining hard. I like my personal space (and I don't have much of that), I like to sleep (and you don't get much of that either)....but, there's also nothing (NOTHING) better than his little sleepy milk drunk face, or his smiles, or his curious eyes. So, ya, it's worth all the sleepless nights & frustrating times...
because he's kinda (really) my everything.
Love you little man, be nice to mommy, she gave birth to you ;-). Yup, I'm using that line....

*Life also includes help from my amazing family (especially my momma), with out those little breaks to take a bath, sleep or run to Target....oh man. I might be a mess. Thanks momma. xoxo

I'm still here...and the bun is still in the oven.

{ fav maternity pic that our besti's gifted us on a beautiful canvas for the shower! }
{ is it ridiculous that we JUST got a headboard?...I feel like a real adult }
{ putting the feet up...that's a 37.5 week belly there!!! }
{ a good hair day...ha }
{ a good manicure with OPI's 'Ski Teal We Drop' }
{ our beautiful kitty Pepper perched atop the tie dyed onesies from the shower }
{ a favorite sleeveless, footed onesie complete with planets, stars & space ships }
{ time spent by the pool...that's my belly...not a giant boob }

So folks, that's what's been going on for me! Off work for the babes, which I might add is lovely. Don't miss work one bit, although I miss my co workers like mad :-(
We've got the car cleaned out & detailed, ready for our chubby little bundle o'love. Stroller put together & test driven down the hall. Car seat base in car...although I do need to pack a bag for the hospital!!!!!!!!!!! Kinda a biggie, no?!
New on the preggo/baby front....
I get heart burn like it's going out of style. No gracias.
My feel & ankles swell up if I'm on them for too long...cankle mania is what we're calling it.
To turn from one side to the other/get up in the night to go pee is quite a doozie & I'm sure when watched by others mildly amusing considering the level of effort involved in all movements.
My doc thinks I've got a big baby in there...she guestimated around 8 lb's already (how do they really know I must wonder)...given that I want a natural childbirth (no induction, drugs or c section), I'm just hoping that he doesn't get so big I can't get him out of there naturally....is that something I should actually be concerned about?!
Other than his size (which I should add is not ab-normal, he's perfectly healthy, as am I, thank goodness), everything else is good :-) Minus cankle mania of course!!

** hopefully sooner than later I will be posting pics of our 8 lb's of love!!!!!

maternity pics!!

{ me, attempting to work the belly }
{ OPI for Sephora, Caliente Coral }

Not even really a "sneak peak", just yet. I couldn't help sharing a little shot my bestie snapped of me during my little belly picture shoot with our friends, the Loughran's. It just so happens that my bestest's husband is talented behind the leanse, lucky us. We spent the later afternoon shooting some pic's of the ever growing belly! I am excited to see them, we had lots of fun & I'm just hoping for some fab pics in which I don't look as big as I sometimes feel ;-) haha.
In anticipation of this photo shoot, I got my nails did...shooting for the orange obsession I was having, I picked Caliente Coral by OPI for Sephora. Love it...not quite as neon as Claire's, but I love it anyway....I'll try to find neon next time :-)
Hoping I can share the pics with you soon! Happy weekend.

weekend wrap up

{ the Shutter Booth @ Nell & Cole's wedding! }
{ finally wearing this dress, & loving every minute of it's tent-like ness }
{ a watermelon & pineapple snow cone....oh, i think so! }
{ my lover/hubby/baby daddy's 30th bday!!!!!!!! }
{ gotta get some sun on that 31 weeks belly }
{ the centerpiece at Nell & Cole's wedding...so shabby chic }
{ the gorgeous couple, I mean, come on! }

It was a BUSY busy weekend.
Saturday I started the morning doing makeup for my beautiful bride-y friend Danielle, her 6 bride's maid's, her adorable little momma & her fiance's (now hubby!! woo) mom. If you're a makeup artist you'll know that's a lot of people for one preggo to handle...but let me tell you something. These girls are the sweetest (funniest) bunch you will come across, Nell has some seriously fabulous friends. I had the best time, if not a soar back. It was well worth it, everyone was so appreciative. I was just stoked to spend time with everyone while they were getting everything together. There's nothing like the morning of a wedding!!! So much excitement & anticipation & love & friendship...blah blah. It was marvelous.
Sunday was my honey's 30th bday. He started the morning with a surprise golf extravaganza, new bag & all with his boys!! Then to a beach bbq with a 5 gallon local Amber ale, shishkabob's, stuffed portobello's and some really good company. I can't believe my babes is 30!!!!!!! We met when he was 20, and when I think back over the years I can't believe we're here......we must be real live adults or something, although we don't feel like it at all. ;-)
I hope your weekend was magic kittens.

scenes from a staycation

{ soaking up some sun @ the pool! }
{ face painting essentials ;-) }
{ ready for dinner! }
{ Ventana's cute little cork menus }
{ morning snuggles }

We had a marvelous little stay-cation this weekend. It was our 1 year wedding anniversary, and we figured we may as well have ourselves a little celebration before it's + baby time.
We stayed at the Avila Village Inn. The same hotel that the hubs booked the night he proposed!! It was amazing then...and even more amazing now, 2.5 years after he proposed, here we are...married with baby #1 on the way. There was lots of sun, snuggling and hot tubbing for us this weekend :-)
Hope your days were lovely as well.

summer=hot pink & peach.

{ Stila, Gladiola Convertible Color }

SO...
I am somewhat of a product junkie...and by somewhat, I mean, it's an issue. I L-O-V-E makeup (all products in general...working for Aveda, being a makeup artist for Salon Lux & having a Sephora right upstairs doesn't help in this addiction what-so-ever).
I've decided after seeing HOT pink all over the blogs that I needed my own attempt at it. Et voi la, Nars Schiap. OBSESSED (sorry for the all caps), but I cannot even tell you how many compliments I got on my lipstick today!
Next would be my search for the perfect peachy cheek color! I first got a sample of Bobbi Brown's Cabo Coral with a friend when down in Santa Barbara at Nordstrom's (so sad, no Bobbi Brown around these parts). The Bobbi color is perfection, kicking myself for not just buying it on the spot.....was debating ordering, then yesterday found Gladiola from Stila and found it to be a comparable substitute (same price), no shipping.
So folks, I've got my hot pink & peach for summer....and I am super happy about it! Would definitely recommend both products (although looks like Gladiola is sold out on Stila.com & Sephora site :-(
Happy makeup hunting!

* off for a 1 year anniversary weekend with my baby (can you believe it's been a year)...we're doing a little stay-cation if you will. Pics to come!

Wednesday no work

Wednesday off? Well, sure....I think I can handle that :-)
Spent the morning looking at fabric for a certain baby quilt (have I mentioned my parents are amazing quilters?). I ordered the stripey southwestern(ish) looking fabric off Etsy, thinking I will make a crib sheet with it. Mom and I found that snazzy yellow print fleece at a local fabric shop in Paso.....I think that it would make a pretty snuggly little crib sheet as well!
(( I was told that my previous though of using this fabric was too girly ))
Lunch and lounging poolside with a girlfriend in from out of town was perfection. So relaxing to soak in this beautiful weather & of course some rays. Although, that suit I'm wearing is a monokini (and has cut outs on the sides) which is making for a fairly interesting tan line. haha.
Lastly, spotted these pretty heels on Simply Bubblelicious (but in orange and yellow), and am wondering if they might make a good addition to my summer wardrobe. In short doses obviously, 7+ months pregnant and heels might not be the best ever combo. But, I'm optimistic ;-)
