So folks, that's what's been going on for me! Off work for the babes, which I might add is lovely. Don't miss work one bit, although I miss my co workers like mad :-(
We've got the car cleaned out & detailed, ready for our chubby little bundle o'love. Stroller put together & test driven down the hall. Car seat base in car...although I do need to pack a bag for the hospital!!!!!!!!!!! Kinda a biggie, no?!
New on the preggo/baby front....
I get heart burn like it's going out of style. No gracias.
My feel & ankles swell up if I'm on them for too long...cankle mania is what we're calling it.
To turn from one side to the other/get up in the night to go pee is quite a doozie & I'm sure when watched by others mildly amusing considering the level of effort involved in all movements.
My doc thinks I've got a big baby in there...she guestimated around 8 lb's already (how do they really know I must wonder)...given that I want a natural childbirth (no induction, drugs or c section), I'm just hoping that he doesn't get so big I can't get him out of there naturally....is that something I should actually be concerned about?!
Other than his size (which I should add is not ab-normal, he's perfectly healthy, as am I, thank goodness), everything else is good :-) Minus cankle mania of course!!

I had a marvelous baby shower! My momma & bestest lady friend Ashlee put together quite the festivities. Beautiful flowers, decor, AH-mazing carrot cake cuppies, little activities for everyone (sooo loving all the little tie dyed onesies I have right now). There was good food (scones, creme brulee french toast, creme fraiche, then on to lunch where there was a bruschetta bar & watermelon margaritas (for everyone but me of course!). It was so nice to hang with all the people I love most & it was such a beautiful day for it too!!
Thank you all my lovely friends & family (momma especially) for throwing me/coming to my baby shower :-) I couldn't have asked for more.

Not even really a "sneak peak", just yet. I couldn't help sharing a little shot my bestie snapped of me during my little belly picture shoot with our friends, the Loughran's. It just so happens that my bestest's husband is talented behind the leanse, lucky us. We spent the later afternoon shooting some pic's of the ever growing belly! I am excited to see them, we had lots of fun & I'm just hoping for some fab pics in which I don't look as big as I sometimes feel ;-) haha.
In anticipation of this photo shoot, I got my nails did...shooting for the orange obsession I was having, I picked Caliente Coral by OPI for Sephora. Love it...not quite as neon as Claire's, but I love it anyway....I'll try to find neon next time :-)

Wednesday no work

Wednesday off? Well, sure....I think I can handle that :-)
Spent the morning looking at fabric for a certain baby quilt (have I mentioned my parents are amazing quilters?). I ordered the stripey southwestern(ish) looking fabric off Etsy, thinking I will make a crib sheet with it. Mom and I found that snazzy yellow print fleece at a local fabric shop in Paso.....I think that it would make a pretty snuggly little crib sheet as well!
(( I was told that my previous though of using this fabric was too girly ))
Lunch and lounging poolside with a girlfriend in from out of town was perfection. So relaxing to soak in this beautiful weather & of course some rays. Although, that suit I'm wearing is a monokini (and has cut outs on the sides) which is making for a fairly interesting tan line. haha.
Lastly, spotted these pretty heels on Simply Bubblelicious (but in orange and yellow), and am wondering if they might make a good addition to my summer wardrobe. In short doses obviously, 7+ months pregnant and heels might not be the best ever combo. But, I'm optimistic ;-)

Between our comp not connecting to the internet (WTF), and being sick, it's been a while since my last post!

What's new....???

A pic from 27 weeks....I'll be 28 weeks this weekend, how time flies, it's so crazy!

When I was home sick guess who snuggled by me in bed all day? Yup, my little furry love bug Pepper Dandelion....gosh I love my kitten.

Went to a friend's wedding last weekend and had a BLAST with my little salon family, and lots o' fun in the photo booth, props and all :-)

Lastly (and so important right), I found a new favorite OPI color. Mermaid Tears from the Pirates of the Caribbean line..............it's fantastic. I don't know if I can paint myself with anything else.

Hope your week has been wonderful, I've spent my sick (which I might add is no fun what-so-ever (like it ever is), but especially preggo, because you can't take anything to help your symptoms) No Sudafed, Nyquil or cough syrup.. :-( boo.

It can only get better though, and I have a relaxing little weekend to mend myself with.

20 weeks with our baby BOY!!!!

So peeps, we are having a little baby BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have to pat myself on the back, I found his little 'man parts' shall we say!? And promptly yelled out "is that his Peepee?!", like I'm 12 or something, which led the ultra sound tech to say that maybe I should quite my day job. HA, ya right. Never the less, we got to see all angles of our little guy, he's perfect, everything looks healthy & his heart beat is right where it's supposed to be. SIGH.....nothing more I could want but a healthy little babes.
So excited about a boy!!!!! Already went and got an adorable little newborn boy onesie, only to receive an adorable 6 mo. old boy outfit from my momma when we got home! :-)
I'm feeling really good, and think it's just so crazy banana pants that I'm already half way there, WOAH...

What's new...

I think I may want one of those "I'm getting uncomfortable" maternity sleeping pillow things.

They say I should be starting to feel you in there little love (either now or in the next few weeks).

You're getting bigger...like a sweet potato now & I read somewhere that I can pump the jams through headphones on my belly, because you can hear it. Get ready for some classic rock & a little no doubt (momma loves Gwen Stefani). ;-)

We find out if you're a girl or a boy in two weeks.......we weren't going to originally, I think it's so super rad when people choose not to. But, dag-namit we're curious, and I can't help myself, I want to decorate a nursery for you with some gender specific-ness to it!

People are starting to ask me "So, do people touch you now?" I swear I heard that question about 5 times the other day...so funny, so weird. Oh, and for the record...no strangers have reached out and fondled me just yet. However, a lady offered me a seat the other day...awkward (and nice), but do I look like I need a load off?

haha...

We love you little one....can't wait to learn more about you!

I tried....but I am having one of 'those' days....maybe it was my post hour in a half walk ponytail, or maybe it's the gelato I ate yest, but I just wasn't feelin' it.
I'll try again, hopefully with more luck.

16 weeks :-)

I was 16 weeks this past Saturday!!! I decided to document it with a bump picture, I want to start taking weekly pics so I can see just how much I grow from week to week. I think I've got a pretty cute idea for something a bit more creative that me-my bathroom-plethora of Aveda products in my shower-& a lone TP roll. Haha.
Stay tuned...Might come up with something fun tomorrow ;-)
OH--we got to listen to the heart beat for the first time Monday...........gasp. It is the sweetest noise I've ever heard (easy cheesy, lol) but it's true!

I had high hopes for a pair of regular (preferably Jcrew) flats doing the trick for these little feetsies...
By Friday however, my feet had another plan. After working my last day of the week on those concrete floors they were OVER it. Big time.
By 12 my feet were aching so badly, by 2 I felt like I was trying to stand on my toes just to avoid putting pressure on my heals. By the time I got home, made dinner, and finally sat down around 7, I put my feet up with an ice pack only to realize I had some (very) mild 'cankles' going on.
My poor little feet were so swollen :-( I iced them for at least an hr...so frustrated that I am having this issue at all, grrrr.
Then came to the realization that cute little (no support) Jcrew flats just weren't going to cut it. I googled up some options, asked a few mommy friends for suggestions, and came up with these!
Dansko Sissy sandals. I actually think they are kinda cute....and if you've ever bothered to shop for 'comfort' shoes, you would think so too. Because the alternatives are absolutely ridiculous!
We'll see on Tuesday if they will work magic (I really hope so!), because I don't know what I am supposed to do if they don't.

Hopefully my metaphorical 'cool factor' doesn't decrease rapidly because of my dansko's!! (hahahahaha..........that's a joke people, I'm not assuming I have a cool factor)....kinda ;-)
