Popped over to one of my favorite blogs Lovely Morning & what do I see? A rave review (with a mighty compelling analysis) of One Love Organics products. So I read Kristina's post....feeling a bit sold already just imagining the rich & lovely consistency of the products, fabulously pure ingredients & to die for perfectly simple packaging.
Then....pop over to 100 Layer Cake's blog about their Pop Up Shop offering a sale (like 50% retail) on these products....so I read on, observe flawlessly styled shoot of the beautiful gals of 100 layer cake having a lovely time (in adorable robes) playing with the product, drinking tea (amongst coral peonies) & wearing ban.do accessories. I mean, come on....
Then....pop over to One Love Organics site to read more about ingredients (I'm an Esthetician, must read ingredients), impressed with the pure and simple nature of the products, the rave reviews & said adorably perfect styling...I order the Skin Savior.
Tempted to order the whole she-bang, but I'll start with the balm (Kristina says she uses it on her son Dashiell for diaper rash & dry skin). 2 birds, one stone...what what!?!??!
Can't wait to get my balm :-) Shiny, dewy, glowy fabulous skin here I come (and baby of course).

Saturday we headed up to Paso, to my parents house for some succulent planting and wine margarita taste testing!

We got the pots and bowls planted (almost)...we need about 10 more succulents! I think they look so cute!! Thank you Kelly from Yes Please blog for letting me know where you got your pots (about a year ago)....thanks to her tip I found myself all those cute little cement pots that are sooo perfect for centerpieces!!!!!

After a long day of planting...and planning, going over (and over) all the little details....we relaxed at the house for some wine margarita taste testing : ) My parents were worried about people getting tanked right off the bat with real tequila margaritas (so much tastier....but I had to give up at some point!)...haha, so i did (give up the tequila fight!) and we (with some much appreciated help from good friends Norma and Jim) came up with a concoction of lime juice, sugar, triple sec and wine--with a splash of sparkling wine to top it off. It is good, it really is, but it's not a margarita....so now the game is figuring out a name for this limey refreshing drink.

Just a little sneak peak of the succulent planting going down at my parent's house in Paso today!!! It's hot (really hot)...but everything is looking so pretty and coming together!!

Our succulent guy even threw in air plants with out me asking (which I love)...and feel will mix it up a bit given the popularity of succulents this year in weddings!!!!

SLO botanical garden

We headed to Morro Bay for a run today with my dad only to be greeted by 30 mi/hr sandy winds :-( no go. So we re routed to Dairy Creek park/home of SLO botanical gardens for our run! After a bout with food poisoning/maybe 24 hr. flu I was just hoping I could make it. After a little 3 miler, we re hydrated ;-) and headed to the SLO botanical garden where we checked out the succulent crop and other ca native plants! My dad puts together the CA native plant society news letter every month and takes part in all their activities, he even snatched up some flowers un-known to him to investigate later :-) We wandered around a bit, and checked out their gardens, where Wes and I both wished we were home owners so we could full on garden up a storm (ugh...renting kinda sucks as far as personalization goes).

Over all, a lovely Saturday (I'm really just so stoked I'm feeling better!!!!), home with a Drifter in hand and some of Wes' guacamole (the best eva! no joke!).

TOMS

I purchased my first pair of Toms today!! It was between the sparkly silver version (which I ended up choosing!!!) or the patterned delights (second picture). I have to say that my fancy silver shoes make me feel a little Michael Jackson, but they are so fabulous and shiny that I don't mind! My friend went with, and ended up taking home, the sparkly gold version. To top it off, when I came back to work another one of the woman had the patterned ones (that I was debating) and I realize I may end up with two pairs of Toms eventually because those patterned ones are pretty delightful on!!!!!!!!

what lovely lanterns...

I picked these lovely Chinese Lanterns up today down at Open Air...aren't they amazing? You can't quite grasp from the pictures how tall and bright and lovely they really are!!! Also, I was told that you can save the actual little lanterns after the stocks die, they dry into a lovely burnt orange color and retain their shape--perfect for a little glass vase filler : )

new diggs picy's

So here are just a few pics of the new place...we just picked up some pretty new plants to enjoy (I thought I was going to die 'out of excitement' when I saw the Craspedia at the nursery!!!! we have some Basil, chives, lettuce and strawberry's in our little mini garden so far, and am hoping for cilantro, sage, onions and radishes soon!!
I am hoping to remove all the bark in the yard (there from previous tenants) and put in a pretty succulent and grass collage!! I'm hoping for an umbrella and outdoor rug on the deck (to cozy it up a bit). Over all, it's a work in progress, we are having lots of fun putting it all together : )

Garden Beginings!!

Hey loves.....so.....we got the 'bigger' place (the things I'm stoked on are...the w/d and especially the *garden*). When I say garden...I suppose I should clarify...the 'potential' garden. There's a gangly rosemary sprig there for the moment and a very sad rose bush (i really don't care too much for roses...so that will be going bye bye). I want to plant a garden in one area (Wes wants a tomato plant--as do I!!) as well as lettuce...carrots...raddishes etc.

I also love succulents, snake plants....tall grasses etc. I am sharing all this because I would love advice or opinions about what should go in there!!!!! In your own gardens...what has done well? What have you enjoyed the most?
I also have a large raised planter that I will be growing all my herbs in (cilantro (duh), chives, basil (another obvi.) thyme, parsley and anything else I can think of!).
Please give me your ideas...I really can't wait to get started on what's in season to start now as far as the garden goes...and get started on the rest of the little yard asap!

Plants Potted (finally!)

I finally got around to potting my plants this last weekend!! I got two white pots from Ikea (and I need more....hrmm...) while the beautiful 18'' yellow ceramic pot is from a local nursery called Pacific Home and Garden's. For now the bigger of the two Agave plants and a beautiful little purple succulent are residing in there until I find more white pots for them....I found the yellow one a while back, got around to buying it with the justification that it will be perfect for the wedding (somewhere....). I think they look cute and they 'cozy up' our little pad!

House Plants!!!

Just got these pretty pretty plants while out in Paso with my momma today!!  I have been dying for some beautiful plants, having seen some lovely ones out in the blogosphere and not knowing what they are called I blindly went on the search for 'them' today.  Lucky for me, I found EXACTLY what I was looking for :: a snake plant, 2 beautiful little succulents that will produce orange and yellow flowers, and an Agave plant!!!!!!  I am...seriously...so stoked, and can't wait to get back to SLO to look for pots (apparently I am a picky pot picker (!!!)) and couldn't find what I was looking for out of the 3 places we tried in Paso!  All I want are 3 modern shaped (not ornately decorated) white pots.....am I reaching for the stars??  Wish me luck, I will be sure to share the finished product once I reach it : )

Lush Goodness

I seem to go in themes when I blog...there for I have another 'body' product for your evaluation! Lush products in general seem fantastic..I am constantly hearing their praises in magazines and blogs....and since our salon hasn't been getting any new shipments of our Rosemary Mint (our preference at Aveda) shave cream....that leads me to believe that Aveda has discontinued the product.....this means we will be needing another shave cream soon...and if I get to it...this is the one I'd like us to try!!!!

Burt's Bees Lovin'

Alright...I DO love Aveda (best word being Obsessed!) but every time I see Burt's Bees products I want to snatch up some of that cuteness (!!). I still haven't tried anything (but with their affordable prices...cute packaging (no it doesn't 'technically' matter...don't judge me) and eco friendly message) makes me believe I will be giving it a shot shortly!!!!!!

For Earth Month Salon Lux chose the non profit Surfrider Foundation to raise funds towards clean water for!! As of now we are just shy of our goal for the month, so we set up a site (here) where you can donate $$ to Surfrider! 100% of the donation goes to them, and there is a spot to leave a message if you'd like ;-)

I am an avid birthday lover (generally getting just as excited about my loved one's birthdays as much as my own!). I wanted to share some of my beautiful gifts because I found people were so very thoughtful this year to me, and I was very touched : ) Not only were people thoughtful, but the things they so generously chose for me were beautiful and I am (only one day out) enjoying them tremendously! I did not post pictures of every single present because that would be a bit tedious given the delightful generosity of my friends...but thought that I would share the beautiful Shannon Len earrings that my honey picked out for me at Hands Gallery. If you read my blog then you know that I am a Shannon Len jewelry lover, and now have 2 pairs of her beautiful earrings in my slowly growing jewelry collection. These ones shown are amazing mid sized gold hoops with multicolored gems strung along the backside so when they twist you can see all the amazing detail!!! I also received the most comfortable (I'm really not kidding..I've barley taken it off!) wrap from Danielle, made by DreamSacks bamboo clothing. You cannot imagine how beautiful and cozy this wrap is..and the amazing pumpkin color (nectar), and fact that's it's made from bamboo makes me smile!!! Pictured with the wrap are a few of my new favorite bracelets from Alex & Ani (also purchased at Hands Gallery) those being gifts to myself!
There were many more lovely thoughts...my favorite t shirt from Gap in one of my favorite clothing colors ;-) (coral)...and a set of lovely Pottery Barn plates from the Loughran's. Gift cards to Pottery Barn and a nail salon from Katie and Shannon and Andreas. A bottle of Francis Coppola's SOFIA Blanc de Blancs sparkling wine from Rachel and Dustin, which is honestly too beautiful to even contemplate opening right now...a peacock cuff bracelet, satin floral headband and green tea candle from Marissa and Desiree (not to mention the cinnamon butter cream cupcakes that were also baked!!!)
Basically a big thank you, as I said, I am merely delighted to have such wonderful friends....no gifts necessary...but they sure are good at giving them!! ;-)

:: Bringing the Outside In ::

Contemplating bringing a little nature in here!! I really don't care for that over grown, "I'm in a jungle" sort of look indoors. So I'm thinking that these beautiful hanging terrariums (or the pear terrarium) are beautiful and minimalistic options. On a lovely side note, the pear shaped terrarium at the top is made of recycled glass which is a fabulous eco option! What do you think of these little babies? They would be rather pretty hung in front of the windows perhaps......
