more more more

{ my little cross eyed cutie pie }
{ wore my hot pink J Crew cords & Mona pumps to date night Sat }
{ loving my new red hair...maybe too much? }

{ baby b day outfit }

Maybe some day my posts will make sense again. Until then, here is a hap hazard look into my life. All about my little babes, too much on line shopping (sorry but I'm not sorry hubs) & not enough time with my fabulous husband. Oh but our little man is the cutest babes in the world, it's pretty exciting watching him grow (13 lbs now)!!!
Planning a vaca to the snow in a month (anyone with 4 month olds have wisdom or encouragement for me!?) Never traveled far with him & it will be about a 3 hr drive....hoping all goes well considering he hates the car....oh man.
More soon I promise!!!!!

Texas Tuxedo

{ the fabulous Miss Jenna Lyons }
{ Ashley Olsen }

Kinda loving the idea of a 'Texas Tuxedo'...terrible name. Fabulous result, however.
Jenna Lyon's does it well (of course)...denim on denim looks so alluring on her, with simple shoes & red lips. I like Ashley Olsen's casual approach as well, although the black denim doesn't have quite the effect. I think it's best when the shades of denim don't match (obviously), I like one to look like a classic fade & one to be washed out.
I think I'll give this a try (probably when I have a waist again)...kinda excited about it :-)
Happy Wednesday (4 more days of work until I'm off for baby), lots to do...
Trying to wrap my mind around the whole thing; I am so incredibly excited & so incredibly tripped out. I'm going to be a momma to a chubby little babes....woah.

guess what I'm doing to my hair tomorrow!? Yup....this braid. Thanks Free People :-)
Now...if only I could figure out where the heck she got that adorable gold deer ring, I would be one happy camper.

o-r-a-n-g-e

Loving anything orange right now!
I would just snap that shift dress right up, but I don't think my 32 weeks belly would fit.
Neon nails...oh I think so. This will be the first thing to happen ;-)
Orange pants...when I have a waist again I might just try you out...with a chambray shirt and leather sandals?!
Such a bright summery color, wouldn't you say?

Turban?!

{ my attempt at the turban }

I think I'm into this.
I know I'm a little late to the game (I've seen turban hats & head wraps for at least a year now), but I never felt compelled to give it a go on myself. That is, until I just read Karla's blog & saw her amazingly perfect (I think you have to have a lightweight scarf (big) with no tassels...mine has tassels) TURBAN.
So loves, I gave it a go this morning, et voila!! I don't know how I feel about actually wearing it out of the house; maybe by the pool later. I'm sure to get a few comments, but I have to admit, I kinda like it. So bold & dramatic & I love the color of my citron scarf.
I'll keep ya posted, and share more pics, if I actually try this again in attempts of leaving home with it on my noggin.

found!

Found! A dress for my baby shower in July ;-)
I was contemplating this & this, but first thought I would pop in my favorite local boutique Ambiance. Good thing, because this stretchy (bonus), soft, not too short, fabulously printed tunic dress is just the ticket.
Trying it on with my Cole Haan's here, but realistically will probably wear some flat sandals, it does look cute with a little heal though doesn't it!?
This week has been tiring...I feel like while my belly is growing, my energy is decreasing ;-/ Ready for the weekend....which will be just as busy! Wedding makeup for the bride's maid's, bride's mom, groom's mom & my fabulous girli friend & bride Danielle on Saturday...then off to attend their wedding that afternoon. Sure to be amazing no doubt!!
Then it's the honey's 30th on Sunday!!!!!!!!!! Celebrating with friends/family/beach & bbq!
Happy end of the week

a wedding...and some purchases!

{ me & the Mr. at his step brother's wedding!! }
{ contemplating my outfit choice before...haha }
{ ordered a Jcrew Ryden military jacket }

{ & since I couldn't choose...ordered both these platform pumps from Simply Vera Wang }

A wedding, a jacket & some shoes.
SHOES!!!!!!!!!!! They are my weakness lately, I can't get enough of a fabulous heal....someone might need to stop me because I thought my feet were about to fall off after 6 hours in these heals (not standing the whole time obviously), if I weren't preggo I think my feet would feel a lot better but I've been having swelling issues, something that apparently doesn't go oh so well with 4.5 in heal & a 1.5 in platform ;-) who knew? haha.
Regardless of my swollen sore little puppies today, we had a lovely time at the Farley wedding!!! How can it be bad with amazing weather and coconut cupcakes?
Tomorrow calls for morning coffee date with my love, followed by a few hours in the sun by the pool!!
Hope your weekend continues to be perfect.

nerd-alert?

I don't know if I could pull it off? But.....I have been secretly loving socks/tights with heels!
What do you think, wearable? Or something best worn by models in a Jcrew catalog? Either way, I'm enjoying the idea of it along with some fabulously over-sized plastic rimmed eye glasses. Mind you, I don't wear glasses.....and although I'm greatful for my good eyesight, a small little sliver of me wishes I needed glasses so I could justify wearing something like the ones pictured above (via miss Pandora). It's all rather nerdy-chic, no? And rather delightful :-)
Happy Sunday!

mid week musing

{ me in my bargain find }

Hello lovelies!!
1. Found this pretty little dress at Kohls on Monday with my momma. Sometimes I wonder if I'm crazy for loving total bargain finds (vs. Free people/boutique finds etc), but I've gotta say, I'm loving my giant tent dress (so comfy), and I think it's cute paired with my Cole Haans :-)
2. Thinking I've figured out a design idea for my baby shower invites. Don't judge, I love paper goods and have been known to micro manage (lol), I would say I'm 'helping' my momma in this department, right?!
3. Just a statement that people say the weirdest/inappropriate things to pregnant people. I've gotten the sweetest comments (thank you sweet people), to "are you having twins?". NO, I'm not having twins (!?!?) and how rude. I am not that giant, regardless of what my tent dress says ;-)

Hope Wednesday treated you well, I'm off to dream land in preparation for Thursday.

friendship bracelets

I first found the pic at top on (I think) either Garance Dore or the Sartorialist; and fell in love with not only her bright redish suit, black nails and general chic-ness, but mostly her collection of old school woven friendship bracelets.
Googled up some more images and found all of these fabulous reasons to give this little trend a shot. Hello Etsy (or D.I.Y.) and if you want to glam up this childhood favorite, these.
I can't wait to layer these colorful woven delights up my arm ;-)

Bride's maid attire for Nelly's wedding!

{ Nelly's wedding, June 25th }

Tis the summer for weddings with our friends! To start this wedding season off right is my dear friend Danielle's wedding June 25th.
There have been many an email about bride's maid dress selection (Nell was so sweet to even ask our opinion & take suggestions if you ask me). After much debate (and the issue of my 7 months pregnant belly getting in the way of a cinched in waistline), I believe we have settled on this beautiful Nanette Lepore number!
I love it, everyone else loves it & Nell's friend works for Nanette (discount) not sure....we shall see.
I put together a little collection of goodies...just for fun.
Light pink mani/pedi
Kate Spade necklace (maybe too much with the one shoulder...and way too expensive for me right now, but dang that yellow & coral look good together).
&
Pellegrino (my mock-tail..sad).

I can't wait :-) Thanks for getting married D & giving me a good excuse to look pretty (and wear heals while preggo). xoxoxoxox

lets choose a baby bag!!

Technically two of these bag aren't even 'baby bags', but hey, does it really matter. (Do feel free to actually answer that question if it does)...I need to know.
I'm going to optimistically assume that it doesn't. Given that, I have found these options (I know I had posted this bag long ago...but a $500 baby bag just isn't going to happen right now). I'm considering myself lucky if one of these can happen. As long as I don't have to resort to carrying around a reusable Trader Joe's bag, I'll be a happy camper.
Back to these bags--
The top is my front runner as of a few minutes ago when I decided to check in on the new Kate Spade site layout. Um....It's perfection...wish it had a cross body strap, but I can get over it for that pop of yellow. droooool.
Marc by Marc diaper bag....functional, not hideous...comes in many colors (I would not personally choose the pink) but Piperlime carries a nice Grey color that I would like.
Pendleton buckle bag, pretty, durable, large. Might be a little deep (given it's not a baby bag, might lose stuff in the depths) bc I'm assuming the pocket/compartment situation isn't made for bottles/binkies/diapers/blankets/toys etc.
That's what I've got folks...
I'm really not too into the whole plastic covered things you see everywhere...although I gather how that would be extremely beneficial.
Help me out...
Any other suggestions!?

dansko.....

I had high hopes for a pair of regular (preferably Jcrew) flats doing the trick for these little feetsies...
By Friday however, my feet had another plan. After working my last day of the week on those concrete floors they were OVER it. Big time.
By 12 my feet were aching so badly, by 2 I felt like I was trying to stand on my toes just to avoid putting pressure on my heals. By the time I got home, made dinner, and finally sat down around 7, I put my feet up with an ice pack only to realize I had some (very) mild 'cankles' going on.
My poor little feet were so swollen :-( I iced them for at least an hr...so frustrated that I am having this issue at all, grrrr.
Then came to the realization that cute little (no support) Jcrew flats just weren't going to cut it. I googled up some options, asked a few mommy friends for suggestions, and came up with these!
Dansko Sissy sandals. I actually think they are kinda cute....and if you've ever bothered to shop for 'comfort' shoes, you would think so too. Because the alternatives are absolutely ridiculous!
We'll see on Tuesday if they will work magic (I really hope so!), because I don't know what I am supposed to do if they don't.

Hopefully my metaphorical 'cool factor' doesn't decrease rapidly because of my dansko's!! (hahahahaha..........that's a joke people, I'm not assuming I have a cool factor)....kinda ;-)

lets talk about feet....baby?

I'm into my second trimester now, and I work in a salon that thinks having solid concrete flooring is rad. It looks pretty, don't get me wrong, but effing OUCH! After 8 hours of those floors, along with being pregnant (more blood, retaining water etc.) my feet are just aching from the inside out. It's only going to get harder for my little feetsies, so I must find a (fashionable) solution.
i.e. I refuse to wear hideous white nurse shoes (no offense nurses), you must admit they go much better with scrubs than an Aveda dress code ;-)
Solution....purchase some beautiful, well made flats & add a cushy insole. It's mainly my heels that have been bothering me. What do you think? Is my plan a good one, or do I need to bite the hypothetical bullet & buy some form of 'comfort' shoes?
I hope not....but I will if I have too...grrr.

what if...

I went on a leisure bike ride.
with that FAB-TASTIC (yup) bike.
sassy red lips
those retro shades (which i saw on a client the other day...she looked marvelous)
that insane bag (diaper bag???) I think so...currently sold out....MUST track one down. a.s.a.p.
and Tom's, naturally...new spring line has these faded twill versions..must.

just what if...

i think everything except the bike might actually happen...that sucker is not for pregnant gals on a budget..that's for sure!

:: peace & love ::

p.s. baby update--we went to our second dr. app today....our nurse couldn't find the heart beat with the Doplar (??-sounds fancy), so another ultra sound...FOUND IT, and it was wiggling about in there like mad! Wes thinks it's going to be a pro athlete.....I kinda think it's a boy!?!?

p.p.s Much inspiration for the bike & bag from a new favorite blog, Wit + Delight (love).
